Support Group for Widows/Widowers
Living through a spousal loss can be traumatic and isolating. Discussions examine the grief process and ways to learn patience with one's own experience. Members may be at very different places in their grieving, but this can also be very helpful by seeing that people do survive and learn ways to cope with being newly single. Feel free to read the article "Living through the Loss of a Spouse." Please call Jane Adelman, x59.
Social Skills Groups
We offer two groups: one targets children in grades K–5, the other targets pre-teens in grades 6–8. Both offer activities/discussions that provide strategies and exercises to help children:
• Maintain healthy self-esteem
• Make and keep friends
• Deal with meanness and bullying
• Handle stress and resolve conflicts
• Make decisions with mind and heart
• Manage anger and aggression
• Communicate effectively
Please call Mark Dodd, x33 or Victor Peterson, x57.
