Educational Services/Family Life Programs
We offer an array of educational services, including parenting workshops, adult seminars,
adolescent groups and social skills groups. Programs can be customized to fit specific needs and may be conducted at the Center or on-site.
Consultation and supervision for social workers, clergy, teachers, and other care-giving professionals are also available.
As part of our community outreach initiative, Family Life seeks to keep our young people strong and healthy. The programs include low-cost therapy for youth and family, free school-based group counseling for elementary to high school-aged children, educational seminars for school guidance counselors and child development workshops for parents.
Montclair Counseling Center is also a partner with the Health and Wellness Partnership (HWP) of the Montclair Public School System. The Center’s active involvement with these organizations helps ensure our young people have every opportunity to maintain their health and well-being, and achieve their goals and dreams.
Feel free to call us for more information and to set up a program.
Psychoeducational Testing
Primary education is the main means by which children learn to socialize and become productive citizens. It is therefore critical to identify and treat struggles at an early age, be they emotional, behavioral, academic and/or cognitive. The psychoeducational/neuropsychological testing program helps parents better understand their children’s needs and how the community and school system can assist in meeting those needs. Additionally, the Center offers a comprehensive care program, providing treatment and social skills education for children and support services for their parents.
